Even if you can’t snag an internship at a Fortune 500 company, there is still hope for all of the college grads out there! Some of the top places to work probably land in the Fortune 500, but with a bit of research, I’ve found a few top places to look for work. Looking for something close to you? Monster has you covered with the Location tool on their College Major Salary Estimator. Find a job you love by using Monster’s search engine—it takes only a minute to enter your major and location! Its a great starting point. If you are interested in some recent details on how to use the engine, check out an article breaking down the salary estimator features! According to Forbes’ 2021 Best Employers for New Grads, they rated Merck and Co. as number one on their list! This company is a Drugs and Biotechnology company based out of New Jersey, and they are growing at a fast rate according to their stock holdings for the past 5 years.
They rated Southwest Airlines second and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center as third based off of their survey. You can narrow their list by industry or search for a specific company, which I thought was pretty neat if you know what industry you want to work in. Taking a look at Fortune’s article from 2016, they ranked ENGEO, an engineering company based out of California, as their first place company to work at as a college grad. Their reasons? High volume of job growth and good hiring numbers. They ranked ALKU and Kimley-Horn as second and third. Interested in their list? Take a look at the 50 best workplaces for new college grads. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Motion Picture Projectionists are going to be the top growing job in the next 20 years. I’ve never heard of this job! Want to learn more? The second and third predicted positions with the most growth are Wind Turbine Service Technicians and Ushers, etc, in the movie industry. Go figure! Don’t walk away just yet! CNBC’s article The Top 10 Companies Hiring for Hybrid Jobs in 2022. According to Flexjobs, the jobs available for upcoming college grads gives me hope. With the shift to remote work, and the growing interest in hybrid roles, college grads should easily be able to find a job at one of these companies:

  3. Kelly
  4. Thermo Fisher Scientific
  5. Verizon
CNBC and Flexjobs have also rounded up the top 7 industries hiring for hybrid jobs right now, which includes:

And according to CollegeGrad, the 5 top employers that are hiring entry level workers so far in 2022 are:

We still need college grads to fill roles—that hasn’t changed! A degree means you can have a foot in the door; and now more than ever, experience and qualifications for your chosen field mean you have a great shot at finding a position. The healthcare industry’s need for workers has grown exponentially, as has the need for IT and service industry over the past few years.
