Scholarships for First-Year Graduate Students

First-Year Graduate Students

Graduate students also need access to money to help them pay for their advanced education. While many grad students are focused on fellowships, assistantships, and/or internships, these don’t always cover student living costs. Scholarships for first-year graduate students (even years 1 through 5 of grad school) come from colleges and universities and well as private and public donors.

Graduate school focuses on the advanced learning of a particular subject or industry. This can be in STEM fields, nursing and even education; this specialization often opens new scholarship possibilities that undergraduate students don’t have. Many times, large corporations and smaller organizations provide grad school scholarships to help advance careers and industries.

If you’re currently a working professional going back to school for an advanced degree, be sure to check with your employer to see what tuition support they can offer. You can also keep yourself up-to-date within your industry via online learning programs.
