Statistically speaking, women tend to be underrepresented in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields. That’s why internship and fellowship providers often create designated opportunities for females entering the industry. These opportunities are created in order to help promote women working toward careers within STEM fields. Many believe in the saying “the future is female.” We couldn’t agree more, especially when looking at industries that create opportunities specifically to elevate females looking to shatter the glass ceiling in male-dominated industries. PEAK6 Tech Experience for Women (Summer Internship)

Ages: College Juniors through College Seniors The PEAK6 Tech Experience for Women (Summer Internship) is available to current juniors/rising seniors (graduating Dec. 2018 – June 2019) pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline with a focus on software development. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, working knowledge of a modern programming language, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills to be considered for this position. PEAK6 Trading Experience for Women (Summer Internship)

Ages: College Juniors through College Seniors The PEAK6 Trading Experience for Women (Summer Internship) is available to current Juniors (graduating December 2018 – June 2019) pursuing a degree in economics, engineering, business, or finance. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.5, exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, and demonstrate leadership ability to be considered for this position. As an intern, you will be introduced to the basics of trading, help you see how empowering trading can be, and help you develop key skills that you’ll leverage throughout your career (even if you decide trading isn’t for you). Institute for Women's Policy Research Internship

Ages: Female College Freshmen through College Seniors The Institute for Women's Policy Research Internship is available to students with an interest in women-oriented policy research. In your work you will provide administrative and research support to Institute researchers through: literature reviews, data collection, designing charts, answering phones and filing. You must have strong organization skills, good interpersonal skills, interest in policy research and women's issues and experience with statistics, economics or social science through coursework to qualify for this position.

Women Airforce Service Pilots Internship

Ages: College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5 The Women Airforce Service Pilots Internship is available to female students pursuing opportunities for women’s aviation studies. You must have strong verbal and written skills and the ability to work independently and in groups. Also, you must demonstrate ability to deal effectively, tactfully and pleasantly with volunteers, staff, program participants and Museum visitors. Additionally, you must be a current EAA member or be recommended by an EAA member to qualify for this award. Interns must be at least 18 years of age by the start of the internship. Ages: Female Graduate Students, Year 1 through Year 2 The Littman Family Fellowship is available to female students at the New Jersey Institute of Technology School of Architecture. You must be a first or second-year graduate student returning to school to establish a second career as an architect.
