California Freethought Day Written Speech Scholarship

Description

The California Freethought Day Written Speech Scholarship is available to high school students who are residents of California and intend to plan to pursue postsecondary education at a community college, four-year college, trade school, or vocational school upon graduation. To be considered for this award, you should be involved in, or leaders of, community organizations or school clubs and have an interest in free speech, science, and the separation of church and state. Selection is based on a 300 - 500-word written speech addressing the following topic: "Pretend that you’ve been invited to speak in front of the United States Congress. Write a speech to convey your ideas on how our nation can truly offer liberty and justice for all."
