It’s been a long winter and we’re more than ready to welcome spring with open arms.

To get you thinking spring, we searched our database for our top spring-themed scholarships.

When we think spring, we think of planting flowers, singing in showers and, of course, rebirth (aka, baby animals). Also, sunshine and lots of eco-efforts because of Earth Day. So, that was the basis for our list.

This list is mainly for your entertainment and springtime inspiration, so you likely won’t qualify for all of the scholarships listed below since many are school, location or major-specific. The best way to find scholarships you’re eligible for is to check your scholarship matches.

“Stuck at Prom” Scholarship Contest

Deadline: 7/09/18
Available to: Ages 14-18
Award Amount: 10 Awards from $100 to $1,000

The Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest is open to students who will be attending a high school, home school association, or other school – sanctioned prom. To enter, you must submit at least one photo of you in either the dress or tux category wearing DIY prom attire made out of Duck brand duct tape. One $10,000 grand prize winner will be selected from each category, with 4 runners-up in each category receiving $100.

Learn Between the Lines Scholarship Slam

Deadline: 7/11/18
Available to: Ages 13-25
Award Amount: $1,000

April is National Poetry Month — the largest literary celebration in the whole world (!) — and a time when people from all walks of life unite to celebrate the impact poetry has had on them. Through reading and writing poetry we are able to learn new things about ourselves, each other, and the world around us. What is something that poetry has taught you? Did writing a poem about a problem actually help you solve it? Have you learned something about a friend by stepping into their shoes and writing a poem from their perspective? Maybe you read a poem that changed your life and set you on a new path? Tell us in a poem about what poetry has taught you for your chance to win.

$1,000 Financial Freedom Scholarship

Deadline: 8/01/18
Available to: High School Seniors through College Seniors
Award Amount: $1,000

The $1,000 Financial Freedom Scholarship is open to current full-time college students. You must submit an essay of between 1,000 and 2,000 words on what financial freedom means to you, why it is important and how you will achieve it in order to be considered for this award.

Student Transportation Video Contest

Deadline: 8/31/18
Available to: High School Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: 4 Awards of $500

The Student Transportation Video Contest is open to all students. To enter, you must submit a two- to four-minute video that examines transportation impacts, trends or safety in the United States.

Don’t Text and Drive Scholarship

Deadline: 9/30/18
Available to: High School Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: 4 Awards of $1,000

The Don’t Text and Drive Scholarship is available to high school, undergraduate or graduate students. You must be U.S. citizen or legal resident and complete a short statement on why you pledge not to text and drive in order to qualify for this award. MyProjectorLamps.com Scholarship

Deadline: 10/31/18
Available to: High School Freshmen through College Seniors
Award Amount: 2 Awards of $500

The MyProjectorLamps.com Scholarship is available to students currently attending an accredited a high school, college or university. You must be a minimum 14 years of age, minimum GPA of 3.0, follow or ‘LIKE’ the MyProjectorLamps Facebook page and create a one page essay detailing your ideas about the use of multimedia and data visualization in K-12 classrooms to be eligible for this award.

Women in Science Environmental Scholarship

Deadline: 12/01/18
Available to: Female High School Freshmen through College Seniors
Award Amount: $500

The Women in Science Environmental Scholarship is available to female high school or college students, with preference given to those who are choosing to pursue a science degree. You must demonstrate financial need, and submit a one-page essay that demonstrates an idea you have for helping improve the environment, either global or locally using Drone Technology to be eligible for this award.

Blades of Grass Green Scholarship Fund

Deadline: 3/15/19
Available to: College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: $1,000

The Blades of Green Scholarship Fund is open to undergraduate and graduate students. You must be pursuing education in environmental studies or related fields and submit a 350 to 500 word letter of intent describing your career path, passion for your intended field and what inspired your pursuit of your field in order to be considered for this award.

Prom Pics Contest

Deadline: Varies
Available to: High School Juniors through High School Seniors
Award Amount: $250

The Prom Pics Contest is open to high school students. To be eligible, you must submit a high resolution photo from your prom event. Prizes will be awarded in each of the following categories: promposal, pre – prom, prom dance, and post – prom.

Daisy Chain Scholarship

Deadline: Varies
Available to: College Freshman through College Sophomores
Award Amount: Varies

The Daisy Chain Scholarship is available to female students at Northwestern Michigan State College.

You must be a resident of Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Antrim, Benzie or Kalkaska County to be eligible for this award.

Seed Grants

Available to: College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: $1,000

Amphibian Conservation Alliance is giving out seed grants all year.

Ranging from USD $500-$1,000 to help kick start projects or allow teams to try new innovative approaches to address conservation, research and educational challenges.

Wisconsin Garden Club Federation Scholarship

Deadline: Varies
Available to: College Sophomore through College Senior
Award Amount: $1,000

The Wisconsin Garden Club Federation Scholarship is available to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are attending a Wisconsin college or university.

You must be pursuing a degree in horticulture, landscaping, environmental sciences, conservation, or forestry to be eligible for this award.
