Description

The Shedd Aquarium Penguin and Sea Otter Internship is available to students who are interested in a career in animal husbandry, positive reinforcement animal training, animal behavior, and related fields. To be considered for this position, you should be able to lift objects in excess of 40 pounds, be comfortable around cold salt water and navigating slippery surfaces, be committed to high quality work, and work well with others in a team environment. As an intern, you will support the penguin and sea otter teams with a range of daily tasks including cleaning, diet preparation, observations, and record-keeping. You will also learn the basic principles of operant conditioning and positive reinforcement training. This internship is located in Chicago, IL.
