The WDI Set Decorator Intern is open to college juniors, seniors or graduated with 6 months from an accredited college or university. You must be majoring or have a degree in Interior/Retail Design, Technical Theater, Dimensional Design, Architectural modelling, Applied Media Arts or a closely related field. You must have working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator, working knowledge of SketchUp, previous WDI internship or other Disney experience, ability to lift 15 to 20 pounds, knowledge of storytelling with objects, a working knowledge of props or set decoration for theatre, film or television, the bility to work within a team environment and at the direction of Senior and Principal Designers, have a valid Driver’s License, previous experience in the technical aspects of Theater Arts and its associated skills, must be able to read architectural drawing packages and have working knowledge of construction materials, hardware, and tools to be considered for this internship. Intern duties may include: maintain paperwork associated with the design effort, assist in field installation of props and dressings when required, work with manager in order to adhere to budget and schedule, assist in field installation of props and dressings when required, support the design, production and installation effort as directed by the Principal and Senior Set Decorator Leads for the project and other duties as necessary. The approximate dates of this internship are January through June 2023 and you must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
