Here’s the great news: you have the option – and it’s not as difficult to locate these opportunities as you may think. Many high school students don’t realize that internship opportunities aren’t limited to college and graduate students. 1. ADC Michigan Medgar Evers Internship Program

Available to: High School Freshmen through High School Seniors
Award(s): 3 Awards of $2,000 Provided by the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee - Michigan, the ADC Michigan Medgar Evers Internship Program is open to African-American students. This internship provides substantive experiences in a civil rights environment. Each intern will be exposed to a broad range of civil rights projects. 2. Adler Planetarium High School Internship Program

Available to: High School Freshmen through High School Seniors The Adler Planetarium High School Internship Program is open to students attending the following Chicago Public Schools: The Air Force Academy High School, North Lawndale College Prep, and Pritzker College Prep. Students will be placed in professional museum roles that vary from positions in Visitor Experience and Learning to basic Research. 3. Green Map System Internship

Available to: High School Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5 The Green Map System Internship is open to students who are working wtih natural and cultural sustainability issues. Interns will participate in the Green Map mapmaking system and will learn about environmental sustainability, mapmaking, design, networking and more. Internships are located in New York City. 4. Heartspring Internship

Available to: High School Juniors through College Seniors The Heartspring Internship is available to high school and college / university students. To be considered, you must be enrolled in a class / course requiring observation in a special education setting, be required to observe a specific therapy, or have a practicum or internship requirement. 5. Maryland State Archives Student Internship

Available to: High School Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5 The Maryland State Archives Student Internship is available to high school, undergraduate, and graduate students who reside or attend school in Maryland. 6. Meadowview Farmers’ Guild & Harvest Table Restaurant Produce Internship

Available to: High School Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5 The Produce Internship is available to students who are self-motivated, passionate about the local food movement. You must have some prior farm experience and work well in a group environment as well as independently to be considered for this position. As an intern, you will gain experience with the growing, processing, marketing, record-keeping, and consumption of a range of farm products. 7. NASA Internships

Available to: High School Juniors through High School Seniors Provided by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the NASA Internships are available to are available to high school through graduate level students attending full-time accredited programs appropriate to the NASA internship. You must be a U.S. citizen, majoring in wide-variety of majors ranging from business to science and engineering to be considered for this internship. College-level interns must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. As an intern, you will engage in scientific or engineering research, development, and operations activities. In addition, there are non-technical internship opportunities to engage in professional activities which support NASA business and administrative processes. 8. Global Internship Program for Unemployed Youth

Available to: Ages 18-24 Years Provided by the Alcoa Foundation. the Global Internship Program for Unemployed Youth is available to unemployed yout (ages 18 to 24). Available to: Ages 15-18 Years The Studio Museum in Harlem High School Internship is available to New York City high school students who are interested in learning more about museums and the arts in a professional environment.
