The Baptist University of the Américas is a private Baptist university in San Antonio in the U.S. state of Texas. It was founded by missionary Paul Siebenmann 1947 as the Mexican Baptist Training School, later becoming the Hispanic Baptist Theological School and taking its present name in 2003. The University is a Texas Baptist affiliated institution, associated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. It is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education allowing it to transfer courses to other universities. It is not yet regionally accredited. The university offers Bachelor of Arts degree programs in Biblical/Theological Studies, Business Leadership, Spanish, and an Associate of Arts degree program in Cross-Cultural Studies.
