Description

The GE Aerospace Mechatronics Fellowship is available to PhD students enrolled full-time in a program in mechanical engineering or related disciplines at an ABET accredited university with a minimum GPA of 3.0. To be considered for this opportunity, you should have experience developing confined space access tools and mechanisms, electrical circuit design and troubleshooting, and simulation of kinematics and dynamics of mechanisms and electromechanical systems. You should have testing experience of electromechanical components and systems, data acquisition (DAQ, LabVIEW), and design validation. You should also be proficient in using 3D solid modeling software (e.g., NX, SOLIDWORKS, Creo). As a mechatronics fellow intern in the Aero Thermal Mechanical Systems Lab, you will be involved in inventing and maturing the mechanical solutions that enable new manufacturing, inspection, and repair capabilities for GE Aerospace and customers. In this hands-on role, you be part of the team that leads the design, analysis, prototyping, and testing of novel solutions that will have a direct impact on our ability to deliver our products to our customers and to keep them in revenue service. This fellowship is offered in Niskayuna, NY.
