Description
The Sara Shallenberger Brown Garden Club of America National Parks Conservation Scholarship is available to undergraduate students pursuing studies in conservation. You must be between 19 and 20 years of age to be eligible for this award. Scholarship recipients will receive training, transportation and a $250 per week stipend for each student as an SCA apprentice crew leader working directly under two experienced leaders on a three or four week summer trail crew in one of America’s storied national parks. The scholarship’s founders hope that students will build on their enhanced technical and interpersonal skills and become full-fledged crew leaders or pursue related careers in environmental education or outdoor leadership training.
