Description
The AAAS Risk Policy Fellowship is available if you have a Ph.D. or if you have a master's degree in engineering and three years professional experience. The award consists of spending one year working as a special assistant to the offices of the USDA or the FDA beginning in September. You must be a U.S. citizen who demonstrates exceptional competence in the areas of science or engineering and an interest in applying personal knowledge toward the solution of health, economic or environmental aspects of risk management. The award requires that you be a critical thinker who is articulate and adaptable with the ability to work with a variety of people. Minorities and persons with disabilities as well as persons with a DVM, MD or a Ph.D. in the natural sciences or economics are especially encouraged to apply. Federal employees are not eligible.
