The Dolphin Scholarship is open to children/ stepchildren of members or former members of the Submarine Force who served for at least eight years. You are also eligible if your parent/ stepparent served the Navy in submarine support activities for a minimum of 10 years. Qualifying time must have been served on active duty. The time in service requirement may be waived by DSF for qualifies submariners who have been medically retired or medically discharged from the Navy due to injury or illness which occurred in the line of duty. There is no minimum period of service for children of personnel who died on active duty while in the Submarine Force. To be considered for this award, you must be unmarried and under the age of 24 at the time of application and be enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited, four- year college or university. Your application will be evaluated on the basis of your academic proficiency, financial need and commitment and excellence in school and community activities.
