Description

The San Diego Zoo Horticulture Internship is open to undergraduate students. You must be pursuing a degree in horticulture, botany, landscape architecture, or a related field, demonstrate a passion for horticulture, botany, and environmental conservation, have a strong teamwork and communication skills and have the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks. Intern duties include: assist in greenhouse operations, including propagation and caring for rare and unusual plant species, collaborate with our skilled horticulturists in planting, pruning, and maintaining a diverse range of plant species, learn about the conservation value of plants, and contribute to efforts to protect endangered species through horticulture, gain insights into educational programs, and share your knowledge with guests and other duties as necessary.
