Description

The Battery Park City Authority Community Partnerships and Public Art Internship is available to students who are pursuing studies in art history, arts education, performing arts, or a related discipline. To be considered for this internship, you should be be flexible, hardworking, cooperative, and possess excellent communication skills. As an intern, you will assist in the creation of high-quality videos about BPCA’s public art collection. You will coordinate the logistics of this project, including coordinating any on-site filming, communicating with the artists and the filmmaker to coordinate the project, and soliciting and aggregating feedback from BPCA stakeholders to inform a high-quality product. You will also build upon an outreach strategy for these videos, focusing on identifying educator contacts, incarceration institutions, and other public resources. You will have direct contact with world-class artists and also learn about the way a public entity acquires and manages public art and create public engagement experiences related to social justice, inclusiveness, and art as an agent of change using the art collection in the parks as our foundation and springboard. This internship is located in New York, NY.
