The Chalkbeat Community Listening and Engagement Remote Internship is available to students who are interested in education journalism, community engagement, social media, and online news. To be considered for an internship, you should be a self-starter, familiar with social media and analytics platforms, and comfortable communicating remotely. As an intern, you will work closely with Chalkbeat’s community engagement team on social media projects and callouts, lead one callout project focused on community voices from ideation to completion, and create at least two audience-centered articles or projects. You will also learn how SEO can drive readership and other best practices for online news, gain experience with metrics, and attend weekly skills-building sessions. This 10-week internship is offered on a fully-remote basis.
