Description

The Nature Conservancy Invasive Technician Internship is available to applicants interested in natural resource management. To be considered for an internship, you should have a high school diploma and six months of related experience. Additionally, you should be comfortable operating various types of equipment (lawn mower, chainsaw, UTV, ATV or OHV, two-way radio, or similar equipment) and be able to obtain related licenses or certifications as required (First Aid, CPR, herbicide, or pesticide application). As an intern, you will work in the Agassiz Beach Ridges and Sheyenne Delta Landscapes in the Northern Tallgrass Prairie Ecoregion (western Minnesota and eastern North Dakota) as part of a crew managing prairie tracts and restorations at various nature preserves in these landscapes. Technician duties will include vegetation management (herbicide applications, brush removal, tree removal, mowing, biological control, etc.), equipment maintenance and organization, hand collecting native prairie seed, fencing and boundary posting.
