Description

The OneWeb System Development Internship is available to engineering and computer science students who have some coursework in Python/other object-oriented programming language and satellite mission design. OneWeb is a global leader in connectivity from space who is building a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites with a network of global gateway stations and a range of user terminals to provide an affordable, fast, high-bandwidth and low-latency broadband communications services, connected to the IoT future and a pathway to 5G. As an intern, you will will assist the FMS System Development team on projects that support the automation of operating the GEN1 constellation. Interns may be exposed to writing command and control procedures that run through the FMS command and control system and testing them on the space vehicle simulators, developing web applications in Python with FastAPI, supporting launch and early operations of new satellites, investigating satellite anomalies and contributing resolutions through telecommand files, among other activities. This internship is offered in McLean, VA, during the summer over an 8-10 week period.
