The African Community Center We Made This Internship is available to students who have an interest in working in a non-profit setting with refugees. To be considered for this internship, you should be comfortable working directly with clients, assisting with multiple cases, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining client/agency confidentiality at all times. Preference will be given to applicants who are bilingual in English and Dari or Pashto. The We Made This is a sewing and therapeutic art program for refugee women that focuses on providing a safe space for low-integration women to meet outside of the home, learn new skills, and get to know other women in the area. As in intern, your duties will include planning and teaching weekly tea time, continual development of curriculum, intakes (pre- and post- evaluations), checking in with students regarding attendance, working weekend craft sales, gathering individual stories for the website, and taking on a personal project. This internship is located in Denver, CO.
