Description

The SD Department of Game, Fish, and Parks Summer Wildlife Damage Internship is available to junior and senior-level undergraduate students. Preference will be given to residents of South Dakota and students attending a South Dakota institution. As an intern, you will perform wildlife damage management techniques to assist the Regional Wildlife Damage Specialists in Southeastern South Dakota. Internships will provide experience on methods of exclusion fences for Canada geese, turkeys, and deer. You will learn a variety of hazing practices, some trapping for nuisance animals and beavers, banding migratory game birds, and other management assignments regarding Wildlife Damage. You will also learn how to operate and maintain a variety of equipment and vehicles such as pick-up trucks, tractors, UTV's, kayaks, and boats with motors as well as perform record keeping and data entry. This internship is located in Sioux Falls, SD.
