Description

The House Committee on the Judiciary’s Democratic Staff Internship Program is available to undergraduate, graduate, and law students. The Judiciary Committee has jurisdiction over a wide range of legislative and oversight issues, including oversight of the U.S. Department of Justice, constitutional law, federal criminal law, voting rights, immigration and naturalization, and antitrust law. Selection is based on resume, academic merit, and a short statement detailing how your lived experience will enhance your ability to contribute to the committee. Candidates from minority backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. As an intern, you will research policy issues, conduct legal research, attend briefings and hearings on the Hill, draft memos, support committee counsels and clerks, and provide administrative support, including answering calls, delivering correspondence, and setting up the hearing room. Internships run during the fall, spring, and summer sessions in Washington, DC.
