Description

The PFLAG Advocacy and Policy Internship is available to college students and recent graduates who reside in the U.S. You must demonstrate commitment to LGBTQ+ equality, have experience with Google Suite, be familiar with how to use Associated Press (AP) Style, and possess excellent written, verbal, research, and organizational skills to be considered for this internship. Additionally, you must commit to working 20 hours per week, either remotely or at the PFLAG national office in Washington, D.C. Preference given to applicants who have demonstrated interest through a previous internship experience, volunteerism, or active pre-professional organization involvement in a government, public affairs, or nonprofit sector. The Advocacy and Policy intern will gain participative experience in federal and state legislation and advocacy through learning the structure, procedures, and practices of legislative branches, utilizing SalesForce and Salsa software, and policy research/reporting.
