The 3D Engine CFD Simulation Internship is available to graduate students in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or similar discipline with a strong interest in engine simulation. You must have existing experience working with 3D simulation tools such as AVL Fire and Converge and be able to work independently to be considered for this internship. Preference given to applicants with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who have experience with IC engine testing and/or 1D simulation tool GT-power. As an intern, you will focus on 3D simulation of the mixture preparation process in the engine, resulting in a quantitative assessment of fuel wall film formation and subsequent soot formation, contribute by validating CFD models using measurement data from engine dyno tests, and develop optimized spray targetings to improve mixture preparation and mitigate PN emission. This six+ month internship is located in Farmington Hills, MI.
