Legal Professions and Studies
Are you the captain of the debate team? Love winning an argument? Legal studies could be a great major for you. Legal studies not only involves the general study of law, it studies the Constitution, legal history, child law and even politics.
Many legal studies majors put themselves on a path to be an attorney, which requires an advanced degree and a successful grade on their state bar exam. Other students go on to become paralegals and professors.
There are dozens of areas of study involving law: business law involves corporations, international law can involve business dealings abroad, marital law covers divorce and spousal support and environmental law argues for or against entities that affect our planet. Other students become criminal lawyers and defend those facing our court system. Law is a challenging but incredibly rewarding career as advancement options and even salary can be unlimited.
