Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) is a two-year community college founded in 1909. It is located on a 74-acre (30 ha) campus right over the beach in the city of Santa Barbara, California, USA. SBCC offers associate degrees in English, Social Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, and occupational and technological training. As one of the top 10 community colleges in the United States (named by Aspen Institute College Excellence Program 2011), SBCC is known for its excellent transfer rates to the four-year colleges and universities.
It is currently led by Lori Gaskin, who was appointed in spring 2012. SBCC is one of the 112 Community Colleges in the State of California.
