Johnson College is a private, coeducational two-year college located in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Johnson College was founded in 1912 as a trade school by Orlando S. Johnson, a wealthy coal baron. Over the years it has evolved to college status.
The college offers 13 associate degree programs of study that provide students with general education courses as part of a degree program in their technology field.
The average student to faculty ratio is 17:1 allowing for a more personalized learning environment. Students leave Johnson with a 97% placement rate based on the 2007 graduating class. Johnson College welcomed its largest freshmen class in the fall of 2010 for a total enrollment of 471 students.
On the 41-acre (170,000 m2) campus are classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices, and student housing units. A library, clinic, cafeteria, student center, exercise room, and gymnasium are facilities provided to complement the students' college experience.
Johnson College competes in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference. They offer men's basketball, cross country, and bowling.
