Humboldt State University (HSU) is the northernmost campus of the twenty-three school California State University system, located hillside in Arcata within Humboldt County, California, USA. The main campus, nestled at the edge of a coast redwood forest, has commanding views of Humboldt Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Its small college town location 8 miles (13 km) north of Eureka and 279 miles (449 km) north of San Francisco on the North Coast of California is notable for its natural beauty and relative remoteness.
The university offers 91 types of Bachelor's degrees, 21 different Master's degrees, and 6 types of teaching credentials. It does not confer Doctoral degrees.
