The Frederick Douglass Institute Predoctoral Fellowship is available to graduate students studying aspects of the African and African-American experience who wish to expedite the completion of their dissertation. You must work with the Institute's Director in organizing colloquium, lectures and other events to be eligible for this annual stipend. You will need to have completed and passed all required courses, the qualifying oral and/or written exams, and written at least one chapter of your dissertation before the end of the 2008-2009 academic year.
