The Black History Month Essay Contest is open to high school students residing in Virginia's Fourth Congressional District. To be considered, you must submit a 500 - to 750 - word essay on the following topic: "Late civil rights activist and former US Rep. John Lewis once said "Speak up, speak out, get in the way. Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America." What do you think he meant by "good trouble" and how can you get in "good trouble" in your community as a student and future voter?"
