Science and Diplomacy Internship (OISA)

The Science and Diplomacy Internship (OISA) is open to individuals with a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree. If you have a master's degree in engineering and three years of experience in engineering, you also qualify. The award consists of spending one year working under the stipend from AAAS for the Agency for International Development, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of State or the National Institutes of Health. To be considered for the award, you must be a U.S. citizen. The award requires that you demonstrate exceptional competence in some area of science and engineering, be cognizant of the ways in which science and technology affect a broad range of international development and foreign policy issues and exhibit a willingness and flexibility to tackle problems in a number of non-scientific areas, among other qualifications.
