Description

The Shedd Aquarium Organic Sustainable Gardening Internship is available to students who are interested in horticulture, environmental studies, public gardens, or related fields. To be considered for this opportunity, you should be able to lift up to 80 pounds, possess effective communications skills and a friendly personality, be willing to work outdoors in variable weather conditions, and be at least 18 years of age. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to learn about caring for naturalistic landscapes, edible landscaping, practical use of native plants in ornamental horticulture, invasive species control, our relationship with insects, soil creation and conservation, IPM, and food propagation.
