The GM Strategy and Transformation Data Scientist Internship is available to upper-division undergraduate and graduate students who are majoring in mathematics, statistics, computer science, operations research, engineering, economics, or another quantitative field. To be considered for this role, you should have experience working with large data sets, distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.) and Machine Learning pipelines (Scikit-learn, DASK, etc.) is preferred. You should also possess a strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data. As an intern, your responsibilities may include developing analytical solutions by applying data science and modeling techniques to deliver useful insights for better decisions and improved business performance, exploratory and targeted data analyses, building predictive models and machine learning algorithms, analyzing large amounts of diverse information to discover trends and patterns, and identifying practical insights, making recommendations, and communicating results to business and technical audiences. Interns can participate in the GM Family First Vehicle Discount Program and the opportunity to network with company leaders and peers at intern events. This internship is offered as a hybrid role in Warren, MI, during the summer.
