Coastal Reserve Education Internship

Description

The Reserve Education Internship is open to students majoring in education, environmental science, biology, coastal sciences, or related fields. Interns will learn about estuarine ecology and coastal processes, how to translate science information into age-appropriate learning materials and activities. different teaching techniques to use in a classroom and informal settings, and gain valuable hands-on science teaching experiences, public speaking skills and organizational skills necessary to be a successful educator. Duties may include assisting the Education Coordinator with summer camps, field trips and classroom activities, developing and presenting curriculum-based programs to a variety of age groups (pre-school through high school), being responsible for teaching portions of each program and will be encouraged to develop innovative activities to include in the summer camps and programs.
