The City of Plymouth Community and Economic Development Internship is available to undergraduate and graduate students who are majoring in public administration, public policy, urban studies, economic development, urban planning, land use planning or a related field. To be considered for this internship, you should be proficient in Microsoft Office. As an intern, you will work in local government and gain a broad view of community development functions. Specifically, you will participate in a wide variety of internal meetings, answer phone calls and assist with planning and zoning questions, assist with the business recruitment and retention program, work on planning cases for the planning commission and city council, and work across the community and economic development department in the areas of administration, planning, building inspections, housing and economic development.
