The Oculus Research Scientist Photonic Design And Machine Learning Internship is available to students pursuing a PhD in Optical Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. You must be authorized to work in the U.S., have one+ years experience with electromagnetic simulation software, and two+ years experience in nanophotonics, photonic crystals, plasmonics, metamaterials, programming languages, and computational EM algorithms to be considered for this internship. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience with experimental optics, conducting laboratory work, and who are familiar with processes and tools used for fabricating and testing nanophotonic structures and components. As an intern, you will research and develop machine learning models and algorithms for photonic design and optimization of augmented reality displays, implement proof-of-concept tools and infrastructure that redefine the state-of-the-art of photonic design capability, and collaborate with the larger Facebook Reality Labs team and provide creative leadership on computational methods for augmented reality display optimization and design. This internship is located in Redmond, WA. Average monthly compensation for a Meta Intern is $8,000.
