The Ford House Collections Inventory Internship is available to undergraduate and graduate students studying history, museum studies, library science, American studies, archeology, or a closely related field preferred but not required. To be considered for this internship, you should be detail-oriented, comfortable speaking to groups, able to function both independently and on a team, and possess excellent organizational and problem solving skills. As an intern, you will assist in conducting inventories, photograph or digitize objects and enter information into collections management database, physically mask objects, research object provenance, rehouse objects, and catalog artifacts and acquisitions. You will also assist with other collections management duties such as general collections care, preventative conservation, cataloging backlog, research requests, donation processing, relocating artifacts, and preparing objects for exhibition. This internship is offered in Grosse Pointe, MI.
