So you’re a grad student. You may know a whole lot but did you know it’s not too late to get help paying for school?

These programs are impressive, prestigious and will give you bragging rights when it comes to your academics (not that you don’t have them already). Obtaining one (or more) basically gives you the freedom to study your passion independently.

If interested, make sure to demonstrate your passion to the best of your ability – these programs generally reward those who are truly passionate about their field.

The Fantasy Sports Daily Scholarship is available to students attending an accredited college or university. You must answer four personal, open-ended, and thought-provoking questions to qualify for this award.

ANNA Career Mobility Scholarship

Award Amount: 5 Awards of $2,000

The ANNA Career Mobility Scholarship is available to students pursuing a BSN or advanced degree in nursing. You must be a full member of the American Nephrology Nurses’ Association to be eligible for this award.

NASCAR Diversity Scholarship

Available to: Ages 18-25
Award Amount: $10,000

The NASCAR Diversity Scholarship is open to students between the ages of 18 and 25. You must submit a 90 second video that demonstrates one technology used in NASCAR, an issue it resolved and how STEM professionals designed it in order to be considered for this award.

Shear Comfort Scholarship

Available to: College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: $1,500

The Shear Comfort Scholarship is available to students attending an accredited college or university. You must be studying engineering, automotive technology, or a similar program related to the automotive industry to qualify for this award. A 300-600 word essay is required that answers the following question: “In your opinion, what will be the largest technological development in the automotive industry within the next 5-10 years and how do you plan to be a part of it?”

Stroble Law Scholarship

Available to: College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: $1,000

The Stroble Law Scholarship is available to students attending an accredited college or university. You must submit a 500 word essay on the following topic: “What types of legal penalties would you believe would effectively deter drivers from texting while driving?”

Association for Iron and Steel Technology Foundation Scholarship

Available to: College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: 11 Awards from $2,000 to $3,000

The Association for Iron and Steel Technology Foundation Scholarship is available to full- time undergraduate students studying engineering. You must have an interest in the iron and steel industry and a minimum 2.5 GPA to be eligible for this award.

The College Scholarship Essay Competition is available to prospective or current students attending an accredited college or university. You must submit a 500 word essay on the following topic: “What steps could lawmakers take to strengthen current laws that are aimed at reducing distracted driving and what additional legal measures could be passed to make our roads safer?”

Award Amount: $1,000

Giva’s Corporate Student Scholarship and Worldwide Community Ambassador Award is available to undergraduate and graduate students. To be eligible, you must submit a 600 – to 1000 – word essay answering the following questions: “How will you use your talents and education to make the world a better place for future generations? What are your career and personal goals and why?”

The Digital Marketing Scholarship is available to students enrolled at an accredited college or university. You must be studying marketing, commerce, business or IT and submit an essay of 500 words or less to qualify for this award.

Health Professions Scholarship Program

Award Amount: 100% of tuition

The Health Professions Scholarship Program from the U.S. Army Medical Department is open to full-time students enrolled in a graduate-level health care degree program in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.

You must be a U.S. citizen and qualify as a commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserve to be eligible for this award.

Thomas J. Watson Fellowship

Award Amount: $25,000 – $35,000

The Thomas J. Watson Fellowship is available to seniors graduating from a participating college or university who wish to pursue one year of independent international study. To be considered for this award, you must submit a proposal for a project that is creative, feasible and personally significant. You must also submit a personal statement, a letter of nomination from your college or university, and at least one letter of recommendation. Participation in an interview is also required.

PIRG Fellowship

Sponsored by National Association of State Public Interest Research Groups, PIRG Fellowship is available to recent college graduates who are interested in the public interest movement.

As a PIRG Fellow, you will build expertise on global warming, campaign reform, or another social problem.

You will conduct research, make the case for solutions, act as a spokesperson to the media, build diverse coalitions, write grants, and develop the kind of politically powerful support you need to win.

The Ralph Johnson Bunche Distinguished Graduate Scholarship is available to full-time entering students at Rutgers University, School of Law, Newark.

Provided by the Aspen Institute, the William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students is available to minority undergraduate and graduate students.

You must have a background in the social sciences or humanities and have excellent writing and communication skills to be eligible for this award.

Winners of this award will participate in an internship for 12 to 15 weeks during the summer at a Washington, DC, office of the Aspen Institute.

Provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program is available to graduate-level students, particularly females and minorities who are interested in independent research in oceanography, marine biology or maritime archaeology.

You must be a U.S. citizen currently pursuing or intending to pursue a masters or doctoral level degree in oceanography, marine biology, or maritime archaeology and must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award.

Priority will be given to applicants who are interested in studying fisheries and coastal ecosystems; coastal navigation, hazard response and management; and geological dynamics and biogeochemical cycles.

Provided by Aids Actions, the Pedro Zamora Public Policy Fellowship is open to young professionals, undergraduate and graduate students who seek experience in HIV-related public policy and government affairs.

You must have strong research, writing and organizational skills and a willingness to work in a professional office. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is critical.

Familiarity with HIV-related issues and the legislative process is preferred. People of color, women, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals, and HIV positive individuals are encouraged to apply.
