The Department of Cardiology of the John Ochsner Heart & Vascular Institute at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans is searching for an emerging physician leader who is experienced in Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant to serve as the Assistant Section Head. The Assistant Section Head will have oversight of the advanced heart failure mechanical device support program and the cardiac transplantation program, reporting to the Section Head.
The Section of Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation consists of six dedicated physicians. We offer the opportunity to become involved in high volume left ventricular assist device (LVAD) and cardiac transplant programs, that combine excellence in clinical outcomes with an academic prominence. We also offer highly specialized cardiomyopathy and pulmonary hypertension programs. Ochsner has its own medical school and the largest Cardiology training program in the state of Louisiana, with 30 accredited cardiology fellows, including an accredited Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology fellowship. Our focus will be on hiring a physician with a leadership interest in and caring for complex heart failure patients with an emphasis on teaching and clinical research.
