The Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) Diversity Merit-Based Scholarship is available to students at institutions that are members or associate members of the IES college consortium. You must be accepted into an IES study abroad program and have a minimum 3.3 GPA to be eligible for this award. You must also be a student from a diverse cultural background who has been traditionally under-represented on study abroad programs or a student who shows an interest in enhancing the study abroad experience by acknowledging, exploring and contributing to the presence of multiple groups, perspectives and ideas within the host country. This group includes, but is not limited to, students identifying by a certain race, sex, color, religion, creed, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, age, marital status, national origin or ancestry, ethnic origin or veteran status. An academic essay, recommendations and personal statement are also required.
