Florida Farm to School Essay Contest

The Florida Farm to School Essay Contest is open to Florida students in grades 9 – 12, including those in public, private and charter schools, as well as virtual and home-schooled students. You must submit a 500 - 800-word essay on farming and agriculture to be eligible for this contest. You will also be asked to write a short personal statement. The top three winners of the Florida Farm to School Essay Contest will be honored in person at the annual Florida Farm to School Conference in Tampa, Florida. As part of the celebration, winning students will have the opportunity to read an excerpt of their essay on stage, sharing their vision and voice with leaders who are shaping the future of food and education in Florida, including farmers, educators, school nutrition professionals and other advocates. Winners who attend the Conference will be provided a travel stipend to assist with travel-related expenses.
