The Georgia Foster Care Scholarship is open to students under 26 years of age who are residents of Georgia and plan to enroll in a minimum of six hours, at an eligible Georgia public or private college, university or technical college as an undergraduate student seeking a college degree or technical certificate/diploma. To be eligible for this award, you must meet one of the following requirements: is a former foster child who was in the custody of the Georgia Division Family and Children Services for at least six months after their fourteenth birthday; Currently in custody of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services; Currently participating in the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services independent living program in accordance to the applicable policies and procedures; Was adopted from the permanent legal custody of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services following the child’s fourteenth birthday; or the family is receiving or has previously received state funded adoption services through the Georgia Department of Human Services.
