The SCA Indigenous Youth Multimedia Remote Fellowship is open to Indigenous, Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, First Nation, Inuit or Métis undergraduate students, graduate students, recent graduates or early-career professionals pursuing journalism. To be considered for this role, you should be between the ages of 21 and 35, have previous experience in journalism (internships, freelance work or student media), demonstrable skills in shooting and editing video and still photography, have experience using standard non-linear editing software, have experience developing social media content (Facebook/Instagram/TikTok, etc.), and experience writing news articles and/or blog posts. The Indigenous Youth Multimedia Fellowship is an 18-week, paid fellowship that provides Indigenous student journalists and early-career Indigenous media professionals with an opportunity to strengthen their multimedia storytelling skills. The fellow will be documenting Student Conservation Association program participants in the field across the country by traveling to various work sites to gather content, including video and still photography, for the SCA’s publications, website and social media channels. This unique role is responsible for shooting, writing, editing and transmitting stories and is offered on a fully-remote basis.
