Sharpe Community Scholars Program
William and Mary
The Sharpe Community Scholars Program is available to incoming freshman students at William and Mary who are interested in community engagement, social justice, and collaborative research. Sharpe Scholars are given priority registration and live in a residence hall together to foster interaction among peers who share a common interest in exploring the complexities of community engagement in action and research. They receive an award to participate in an Action Research Internship or to complete a faculty-mentored community-based research project over the summer. Sharpe Scholars are selected to join a living-learning community that offers peer mentoring support, faculty advising, community-based engagement opportunities, and research development to learn and grow in their first year at William and Mary.
