The North Carolina Student Loan Program for Health, Science and Mathematics is open to legal residents of North Carolina who are full-time undergraduate and graduate students. You must be accepted to an accredited associate, baccalaureate, master's or doctoral program leading to a degree in specified health, science or mathematics-related fields. Selection is based on major, academic capabilities and financial need. You must enter into a contract with the State of North Carolina to work full-time in an approved employment within North Carolina in the field for which you are funded. One calendar year of full-time employment in a designated shortage area is required for each school year a loan is received.
