The Sammy Davis Jr. Performing Arts Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who are pursuing a degree in the performing arts. Performing arts includes (but is not limited to) majors in music, theatre and dance. You must reside in one of the following towns in Connecticut: Andover, Avon, Berlin, Bloomfield, Bolton, Bristol, Burlington, Canton, Cromwell, East Granby, East Hartford, East Windsor, Ellington, Enfield, Farmington, Glastonbury, Granby, Hartford, Hebron, Manchester, Marlborough, Middletown, New Britain, Newington, Plainville, Portland, Rocky Hill, Simsbury, Somers, Southington, South Windsor, Suffield, Tolland, Vernon, West Hartford, Wethersfield, Windsor, Windsor Locks. Also, you must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien, graduate from a high school in the above listed towns noted above for residency by the current July, and anticipate an accredited degree-granting two- or four-year college. Additionally, you must demonstrate financial need, academic ability, and have participated in some form of community service while in high school to be eligible for this award.
