Jennifer Corbett Memorial Scholarship

The Jennifer Corbett Memorial Scholarship is open to students at the University of Rhode Island.

You must be a child of a firefighter, police person or enlisted military personnel to be eligible for this award.

War Orphans Tuition Assistance

Available to: Ages 16-21
Award Amount: $500

The War Orphans Tuition Assistance is open to children of those service personnel who died while in the military or due to service-connected disabilities, or who are officially listed as missing in action by the U.S. Department of Defense.

To qualify, the child must be a resident of New Jersey for at least one year immediately preceding the filing of the application and be between the ages of 16 and 21 at the time of application.

The veteran must have been a state resident.

Military Scholarship

The Military Scholarship is available to students at AIB College of Business. You must be current military personnel, reserves or veteran or be the spouse or dependent of military personnel and have a minimum GPA of 2.0 in order to qualify for this award.

Nebraska Waiver of Tuition for Veterans’ Dependents

Available to: College Freshmen through College Seniors

The Nebraska Waiver of Tuition for Veterans’ Dependents is open to any eligible child, spouse, widow or widower attending the University of Nebraska, the state colleges, and community colleges. You must be a resident of Nebraska.

In addition, you must have a parent, stepparent or spouse who was a member of the armed forces of the United States and who: (1) Died of a service connected disability; (2) Died subsequent to discharge as a result of injury or illness sustained while in service; (3) Is permanently and totally disabled as a result of military service; (4) Is classified as missing in action or as a prisoner of war during armed hostilities after August 4, 1964.

The waiver shall be valid for one degree, diploma, or certificate from a community college and one baccalaureate degree.

Applications are submitted to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs by contacting the County Veterans Service Officer nearest the applicants place of residence.

Liberty Grant

The Liberty Grant is available to first-time students, re-entering students or students who have reenrolled at IADT Chicago.

You must be an active duty, veteran, reserve, or National Guard military personnel serving in the U.S. Armed Services, and their immediate family members to be eligible for this grant.

Disabled American Veterans Charities Scholarship

Available to: College Freshman through College Sophomores
Award Amount: $500

The Disabled American Veterans Charities Scholarship is open to a disabled veteran, an immediate relative of a disabled veteran (defined as mother, father, spouse, son or daughter) or a veteran entering and/or completing two years at San Joaquin Delta College.

To qualify for the scholarship, you must major in a vocational field and be planning to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue your studies.

You must also possess a minimum 2.0 GPA to be eligible for this award.

Freedom Scholarship

Available to: High School Freshman through Graduate Student, Year 5
Award Amount: $1,000

Provided by the Idaho State Board of Education, the Freedom Scholarship is available to students who are residents of Idaho.

You must the child of someone who has been determined by the federal government to have been a prisoner of war, missing in action, or killed in action or died of injuries or wounds sustained in action in southeast Asia, including Korea, or who shall become so hereafter, in any area of armed conflict in which the United States is a party.

Samsung American Legion Scholarship Program

The Samsung American Legion Scholarship Program is open to high school juniors who are direct descendants of U.S. wartime veterans who served during one or more of the periods of war officially designated as eligibility dates for membership in the American Legion by the United States government.

In order to apply, you must have completed an American Legion Boys State or American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Program and plan to attend an accredited U.S. college or university.

Selection is based on the following criteria: academic record; involvement in school activities; involvement in community activities and financial need.
