The DOJ Pathways Internship Program - Bureau of Prisons Chaplain Internship is open to students in their second or third year of their theological and/or ministerial training program from an educational institution recognized as accredited by the U.S. Department of Education. To be eligible for this role, you must be a U.S. citizen, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and maintain at least a half time or full-time course load. As an intern, you will foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities. This position is located at a Bureau of Prisons’(BOP) Chaplaincy Services field department or within the Chaplaincy Services Branch in Central Office and is a developmental position in a formal training program which provides entry at other than the performance level and development for future assignment as a Chaplain. This program includes a period of familiarization with the overall functions of the Chaplain position and is located in Springfield, MO.
