Marineland Animal Care Internship

Description

The Marineland Animal Care Internship is open to sophomore-level and above undergraduate students and to graduate students of any level who are serious about pursuing a career working with marine mammals. To be considered for this role, you should be able to work a varied schedule in all weather conditions, be able to lift 50 pounds, and possess strong swimming, public speaking, and teamwork skills. As an intern, you will learn and practice public speaking techniques by conducting daily microphone presentations about the resident animal species. You will learn and execute proper food preparation procedures, complete daily exhibit cleaning and maintenance, assist with husbandry procedures, learn techniques of operant conditioning by observing training sessions with all animals using positive reinforcement, and monitor animal areas and provide exemplary guest service. This internship is offered in St. Augustine, FL.
