NPS Scientists in Parks Program-PAID

Description

The NPS Scientists in Parks Program is open to college students and recent graduates who are aspiring professionals interested in science. To be eligible for this program, you must be a least 18 years of age, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and must not have served four previous AmeriCorps terms. Participants will serve in a national park (unless the position is remote) and will gain a deeper understanding of the park's natural resources, management challenges, and priorities through supervision and mentorship from experienced NPS staff. Through this program, you will enhance your skills and knowledge in various scientific disciplines by collaborating on projects like data collection and analysis, interpretation, field surveys, and more. Some positions offer professional development opportunities like conference attendance and presenting their SIP research in professional settings. Additionally, all participants are invited to attend monthly virtual training sessions.
