The City of Huntsville Internship is available to college students 19 years of age and older who have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and have prior work experience, community involvement, or participation in extra-curricular activities. Internships are offered in technical, public administration, or business. As an intern, you will develop public administration acumen and sharpen management skills in operating major functions in a public service environment. You will assist in a wide variety of administrative and professional tasks in one of various city departments; provide research assistance, write reports, and make recommendation on matters under study; gather, compile, tabulate and report statistical data; acquire working knowledge of department practices, procedures, equipment and organization system; interview and consult with officials, employees and other interested persons or groups on matters related to work assignments.
